G.I. Days: An Anthology of Military Life
Edited by Mary Senter
The twenty-nine stories and poems in G.I Days: An Anthology of Military Life give a glimpse into the lives of a diverse cross-section of U.S. military-connected writers, from Vietnam veterans to current military spouses.
There is truly something for everyone in this collection. Poignant, heartbreaking, informative, and funny, the stories and poems range from historical works set during the Civil War to poems that reflect the struggles of recent vets to navigate a post-military reality. More than stories of war, this collection focuses on the everyday lives of military members and their families.

Blazing the Way: True Stories, Songs, and Sketches of Puget Sound and Other Pioneers
by Emily Inez Denny
Using the original text as a reference, Milltown Press has lovingly redesigned this classic 1909 historical work by Emily Inez Denny. Blazing the Way contains stories, songs, and illustrations of the early pioneers who founded the city of Seattle. As told by one of the first non-Native children born on Puget Sound, it is an account of what the first settlers on Elliott Bay endured on their path toward building what has become a world-class city.
Emily Inez Denny (1853-1918) was the daughter of Seattle pioneers David Denny and Louisa Boren Denny. One of the first white children born on Puget Sound. Denny grew up hearing the stories of her parent’s migration to the West over the Oregon Trail in a prairie schooner, their eventual landing at Alki Point and the founding of the City of Seattle.
